ISWAP
ISWAP, is a branch of ISIS. As is the case with most terrorist organizations, it can be difficult to understand the alliances between the groups and branches of the groups themselves. ISWAP is based in the Sahel Region of Africa (region discussed in a previous post on this blog).
Yesterday, in the Adamawa state of Nigeria, ISWAP attacked two villages in the state. It is said that the attackers were wearing military uniforms during the attacks to deceive the residents of the two villages. By the time the attacks were over several houses had been set on fire, 25 people were killed, several were injured, and the head of one of the villages was abducted by the terrorists.
