KEEP AN EYE On THIS

The West African branch of ISIS, and Al Qaeda have started fighting against each other in the country of Niger. The two groups started fighting in 2019 almost exclusively in Burkina Faso, and Mali.

The fact that the fighting has spread to Niger is concerning, because it highlights the fact that the two groups are rapidly growing in the Sahel region (which I have talked about in some previous posts).

I would expect the fighting to intensify, and spread as the globe Jihadist threat continues to go largely unchecked, specifically in the Sahel.
