SOLEMN NEWS, And MARINES BEING DEPLOYED

 Yesterday a KC-135 Stratotanker plane crashed in Iraq Today it was announced that the entire crew of six died in the crash. The cause of the crash is being investigated, as it is suspected that it was caused a by a collision. The other KC-135 Stratotanker involved in the suspected collision although damaged, managed to keep flying and safely land in Isreal. 


The other big update from today that I want to mention (there are many to choose from) is the United States is deploying three more warships to the Middle East. One of the ships is the USS Tripoli.  The Tripoli carries the 31st MEU (Marine Expeditionary Unit) which comprises up to 2,500 Marines. The other two ships each carry up to 2,500 Marines combined.


To sum up the second paragraph the United States is deploying up to 5,000 Marines to the Middle East, and in my opinion, it is highly likely that they will be used to fight on the ground in Iran.

REASON FOR THIS BLOG

When I was a kid knowledge of two events shaped my interest in global events. The first event that I learned about was 9/11 and I first heard about it in 2009, The second event that shaped my interest and the first thing I tracked as it was happening was the Arab spring in 2011. Ever since I learned about 9/11, I have always paid increasing attention to big stories around the world and at home but have always been annoyed with media outlets selecting which stories to cover instead on simply covering events as they happen. I am starting this blog to cover events in a straightforward way as they occur and to give my insight to those events. When necessary, I will add historical examples that help form my opinion. In a world that seems to be on fire people need reporting and insight without an agenda.

WHO WAS RIGHT? DANGEROUS SITUATION

 I closed the last post by asking what if anything people thought would happen between the United States and Iran by time I write this post. I also asked if something did happen, which side would be responsible for it?. If you said that something would happen, and it would be the United States (I am not saying the U.S was wrong to do it) you you are right. Yesterday an Iranian cargo ship broke through the U.S. blockade and after ignoring orders to stop, had its engine room hit by rounds fired by the USS Spruance. The other development I wanted to address is, today the U.S. Embassy in Iraq warned U.S. citizens already in the country to leave immediately. It also urged U.S. citizens not to travel to Iraq. The reason for the  concern is terrorist groups in the country are said to be aiming to assault Americans. The situation is so unstable the Embassy has cautioned U.S. citizens that want to leave Iraq not to go to the Embassy in Baghdad, or the Consulate in Erbil.
