U.S MILITARY GETTING MORE INVOLVED, AND UNDER ATTACK?

 In this post, I will mention two attacks against the U.S forces in Iraq, and I will close the post talking about a report going around that if true, means the United States is about to get much more involved in the war in the Middle East.


Today, an oilfield in Iraq was attacked that has U.S workers at it. Also today, there were explosions at Camp Victory in Baghdad. The damage caused by the two attacks mentioned in this paragraph is currently unknown.


To close this post, I will talk about a report going around today, and briefly explain why if the report is true, it means the war against Iran is about to change in a big way.


It was reported today that an important training exercise for the 82nd Airborne was cancelled and is thought that that is because they're going to be deployed to the Middle East. If they are deployed that is significant because, the 82nd Airborne specializes in parachute assaults, and is known for their ability to deploy rapidly (within 18 hours) anywhere in the world. This means if they got deployed to the Middle East, it is highly likely that they will be put on the ground in Iran making them the first known ground forces in this war.

REASON FOR THIS BLOG

When I was a kid knowledge of two events shaped my interest in global events. The first event that I learned about was 9/11 and I first heard about it in 2009, The second event that shaped my interest and the first thing I tracked as it was happening was the Arab spring in 2011. Ever since I learned about 9/11, I have always paid increasing attention to big stories around the world and at home but have always been annoyed with media outlets selecting which stories to cover instead on simply covering events as they happen. I am starting this blog to cover events in a straightforward way as they occur and to give my insight to those events. When necessary, I will add historical examples that help form my opinion. In a world that seems to be on fire people need reporting and insight without an agenda.

WHO WAS RIGHT? DANGEROUS SITUATION

 I closed the last post by asking what if anything people thought would happen between the United States and Iran by time I write this post. I also asked if something did happen, which side would be responsible for it?. If you said that something would happen, and it would be the United States (I am not saying the U.S was wrong to do it) you you are right. Yesterday an Iranian cargo ship broke through the U.S. blockade and after ignoring orders to stop, had its engine room hit by rounds fired by the USS Spruance. The other development I wanted to address is, today the U.S. Embassy in Iraq warned U.S. citizens already in the country to leave immediately. It also urged U.S. citizens not to travel to Iraq. The reason for the  concern is terrorist groups in the country are said to be aiming to assault Americans. The situation is so unstable the Embassy has cautioned U.S. citizens that want to leave Iraq not to go to the Embassy in Baghdad, or the Consulate in Erbil.
