ELECTION INSANITY, BLOCKADE, UNCERTAINTY
In this post, I am going to mention two big events currently taking place in the world. One of the events is getting a lot of attention around the world. However, the first event that I am going to discuss, although very significant, is in my opinion getting less notice then it should.
On February 17, I posted about how Peru had impeached its President that day(the country's eighth president since 2016). Yesterday, previously scheduled elections took place to (among other items) vote in a new President(there are 35 candidates). The main reason that I am bringing up this up today is, due to technical issues with the ballots voting got extended into today. Obviously much of the country is fed up with the situation, and widespread protests are anticipated regardless of who "wins" the election.
The other news I wanted to mention is today the U.S. Navy implemented a blockade on Iranian ports, and oil. I am not going to detail about the "blockade" because not much is publicly known. The assumed goal is to force Iran to let traffic through the Strait of Hormuz to return to normal, however, I personally think it will actually exasperate the situation and intensify the war.
